Terms of Service - Ryokô Planner

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Ryokô Planner mobile application (the “Application”).

The Application is operated by Maxime Deleau, trading as Ryokô Solutions, a sole proprietor based in France (the “Service Provider”).

By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Application.

Use of the Application

Ryokô Planner provides tools to help users organize and plan travel itineraries.

You agree to use the Application only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

You must not:

• attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Application
• copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Application without permission
• use the Application in a way that could damage, disable, or impair the service
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Application or related systems

All intellectual property rights in the Application, including software, design, trademarks, and content, remain the property of the Service Provider.

User Accounts

Some features of the Application may require the creation of an account.

Account creation and login may be offered through third-party authentication providers, including Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In.

By choosing these sign-in methods, you also agree to comply with the applicable terms and policies of those providers.

You are responsible for:

• maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• ensuring that the information you provide is accurate
• all activity that occurs under your account

If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact the Service Provider immediately.

The availability of Apple or Google authentication services depends on those third-party providers, and temporary outages or changes on their side may affect access to the Application.

Shared Itineraries and User Content

The Application may allow you to share an itinerary with the community.

By submitting an itinerary for sharing, you agree that:

• the content is subject to moderation before publication
• the Service Provider may accept, refuse, or remove the content at any time
• the Service Provider may make minor edits to the content (spelling corrections, wording or syntax adjustments, light editorial changes) as part of that moderation
• if sharing is accepted, the associated images may be reused in the course of operating Ryokô Planner (display within the Application, presentation of community itineraries, or communication related to the service)

You warrant that you hold the necessary rights to the texts and images you share, and that this content does not infringe third-party rights or applicable laws.

You retain ownership of your content. By sharing it, and subject to its acceptance, you grant the Service Provider a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, and display it for the purposes described above, for as long as needed to operate the service.

Free Access and Premium Features

The Application provides free access to certain trip-planning features.

Additional features (“Ryokô Premium”) may be unlocked through an in-app purchase made on the platform where the Application was downloaded (Apple’s App Store or Google Play).

As of the effective date of these Terms, Ryokô Premium includes in particular:

• the Ryokô Guide (in-app travel guide)
• the railway pass simulator (including the JR Pass and regional pass calculator)
• the departure checklist

The Service Provider may at any time add, modify, or remove features within Ryokô Premium. The features included at the time of purchase are indicated in the Application and/or on the relevant app store product page.

Access to Ryokô Premium is personal and linked to the user account and/or the app store account used for the purchase. It may not be resold, transferred, or shared, except as permitted by the rules of the relevant store (for example Family Sharing, when available).

In-App Purchases and Payments

In-app purchases (one-time purchase and/or subscription, depending on the offer available in the Application) are processed and managed by Apple or Google, according to the store used.

Billing, renewal (if applicable), cancellation, and refunds are handled in accordance with the terms and policies of those platforms.

The Service Provider does not process payments directly and does not have access to your payment card details.

Refund requests must be made through the relevant app store provider.

Purchase and premium access management within the Application may be facilitated by RevenueCat.

If a subscription is offered, it may renew automatically until cancelled according to the store’s terms. You are responsible for managing or cancelling your subscription from your Apple or Google account settings.

Notifications

The Application may offer push notifications, including through OneSignal, to send reminders or information related to your use of the service.

These notifications require your consent. You may decline them or disable them at any time in your device settings. For more details on the data processed for this purpose, see the Privacy Policy.

Affiliate Links and Third-Party Partners

The Application may display links to third-party websites, products, or services that may be useful for planning a trip to Japan.

Some of these links may be affiliate links. If you click such a link and complete a booking or purchase on the partner’s website, the Service Provider may receive a commission, at no additional cost to you.

These third-party services are operated independently of Ryokô Planner. Their content, pricing, availability, terms of sale, and privacy practices are solely their responsibility. Clicking an affiliate link typically opens the partner’s website outside the Application.

The Service Provider does not guarantee the accuracy of information displayed on partner websites and shall not be liable for any transaction, booking, or dispute between you and a third-party partner.

Availability of the Service

The Service Provider strives to ensure that the Application is available and functioning properly.

However, the Application is provided “as is” and “as available” without guarantees of uninterrupted availability.

The Service Provider may:

• modify or update the Application
• add or remove features (including within Ryokô Premium)
• suspend or discontinue the Application at any time

Travel Information Disclaimer

Ryokô Planner is intended to assist users in organizing travel plans and itineraries.

Travel information, schedules, locations, recommendations, Ryokô Guide content, railway pass simulator results, and checklist items provided through the Application may come from various sources and may not always be complete, accurate, or up to date.

Users are solely responsible for verifying all travel details, including transportation schedules, opening hours, reservations, pass pricing conditions, and travel requirements with official sources.

The Service Provider shall not be responsible for any missed transportation, reservations, bookings, financial loss (including related to purchasing a railway pass), or travel disruptions resulting from reliance on information provided by the Application.

Internet and Device Requirements

Some features of the Application require an active internet connection.

The Service Provider is not responsible for service limitations caused by:

• lack of internet access
• mobile network restrictions
• insufficient device compatibility
• operating system limitations

Users are responsible for any data charges that may occur while using the Application.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service Provider shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the Application.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• loss of data
• loss of travel plans
• service interruptions
• reliance on travel information provided by the Application

Termination

The Service Provider may suspend or terminate access to the Application if these Terms are violated.

Users may stop using the Application at any time by uninstalling it from their device.

Upon termination, all rights granted under these Terms will immediately cease. Access to premium features already purchased remains subject to the rules of the relevant app store.

Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time.

When updates occur, the effective date at the top of this document will be revised.

Continued use of the Application after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of France.

Any disputes relating to the Application shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in France.
